PwC is delighted to be the headline supporter of The Western Mail and Institute of Welsh Affairs 2011 Business Awards.

PwC Wales enjoys a long history of working alongside Welsh companies and organisations, and of supporting their efforts to attain success, achieve profitability and create employment. We all recognise that these businesses have experienced extremely challenging conditions over the past few years as global economic issues have impacted on virtually each and every one of them.

It is therefore more appropriate than ever before that those companies that have achieved success during these difficult times are recognised, not only to reward their own strong performances but also to provide inspiration to the wider business community in Wales as we seek to achieve growth in the private sector to re-balance the Welsh economy.

The Western Mail deserves much praise for having long championed the successes of Welsh business while the IWA has won plaudits for its efforts to harness the worlds of politics, policy making, academia and business in order to try to create a better Wales. These awards once again highlight the important role both organisations continue to play.

PwC in Wales is an important part of our firm across the UK - with two offices and over 300 partners and staff we are proud of our links with the Welsh economy and our contribution to helping to drive it forward. We look forward to continuing to do this by supporting businesses in Wales and by helping them to celebrate some of the outstanding business achievements being recognised in these prestigious awards.
