Message from the title sponsor
PwC is delighted to be the headline supporter of The Western Mail and Institute of Welsh Affairs 2013 Business Awards.
PwC has been established in Wales for many years, working with companies of all sizes and organisations across the public sector. Now more than ever, I believe it is vital that we highlight and acknowledge the many success stories from around the country. Wales is competing for investment on a global stage and the importance of ensuring that the world sees us as an attractive place to do business cannot be underestimated.
At PwC we are committed to helping the Welsh economy grow, to support our clients as they develop their businesses and to promote the virtues of living and doing business in Wales. We have two local offices, in Cardiff and Swansea, and have a strong team of 300 working with clients across all sectors and industries.
PwC has a strong reputation for working with listed companies but we are perhaps less well known for the work we do with private businesses, their owners and their families. Across the UK, but in Wales in particular, our work in this area is at the heart of our business.
We are also proud of our community involvement and it is for this reason that I asked the IWA to introduce a new category for 2013, the Young Enterprise Award, which I will be proud to personally present.
I am looking forward to the business community coming together for the awards evening and celebrating the achievements of businesses in Wales and their contribution to our economy.
