In partnership with UWIC and Pfizer, the IWA organises Academy Health Wales, a multi-disciplinary forum to improve communication between health and social care policy makers. It aims to facilitate an exchange of ideas between health and social care practitioners and those within the international arena.
Academy Health Wales has published The Welsh Health Battleground: Policy Approaches for the National Assembly’s Third Term (2008), and Challenges facing the Welsh NHS in tackling cancer, heart disease, and healthcare associated infections (2009). Academy Health Wales organises regular events around Wales, including an annual conference. The theme for the June 2010 conference, is Building the Welsh Health Economy.
