The IWA has five area branches covering most of Wales - for North Wales, West Wales, Swansea Bay, Gwent and Cardiff and the Valleys. Each Branch has a Committee to oversee its operation. The Chairs of the branches are also members of the IWA’s Board of Trustees.
The Branches organise regular events throughout the year, including conferences, seminars, lectures, and dinners with guest speakers. They also initiate research proposals and publications. The secretariats of the Wales-based Branches are as follows
