Mission
The Institute of Welsh Affairs exists to promote research and informed debate aimed at improving the cultural, social, political and economic well-being of Wales. It is an independent organisation owing no allegiance to any political or economic interest group.
It discharges this mission by:
- helping to raise the level of public debate on issues affecting Wales, by placing quality information in the public domain
- influencing policy-making through the generation and dissemination of innovative policy ideas
- providing networking opportunities for the IWA membership, and a bridge between the wider Welsh public and the worlds of politics, business, public service and academia
- promoting wider interest and participation in the development and implementation of public policy, thereby enhancing the capacities of Welsh civil society
