This report marks the completion of phase 1 of an 18-month research project that will trace the implementation and development of integrated children's centres in Wales. With the help of practitioners involved at ground level, the report maps developments in each local authority to January 2005 and traces the evolution of the policy to date.
The second stage will produce a more detailed analysis by selecting three centres to study in greater depth over an eight-month period from February to October 2005. The aim will be to produce indications of best practice for integrated children's centres to follow.
This research project is funded jointly by the Welsh Assembly Government and the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.
