Inspire Wales Awards 2010

The Institute of Welsh Affairs is proud to be launching the IWA Inspire Wales Awards 2012. The outstanding success of the scheme in its first two years has demonstrated the richness and range of talent and inspirational commitment that can be seen right across Welsh society.

Such is the depth of those resources that we look forward to recognizing once again another group of role models who contribute to Welsh life by their own example in business, in the community and in all kinds of active citizenship.

We have always been committed to the development of a progressive society in Wales in which all our citizens play their fullest part. This

awards scheme is designed to seek out men and women who can innovate and inspire whether in many different fields.

It is particularly important that we do so in the current difficult economic climate that presents so many challenges to businesses and individuals, and to our society as a whole. More than ever, we need ideas and inspiration and active involvement.

The scheme will recognise and reward excellence, underline the importance of innovation in the public, private and voluntary sectors, encourage active involvement in Welsh civil society as well as championing equal opportunities.

The IWA is delighted to have secured the continued commitment of the Western Mail,

Geraint Talfan Davies

as the primary media partner for the project. We are also very pleased that so many of last year's sponsors have been so ready to support us again in 2012. We look forward again this year to hearing and promoting the inspirational stories of all our finalists and winners.
