Vincent Kane, OBE, Chairman of the Wales Quality Centre will give a talk on the project Wales 2030 including an update on the results of a substantial survey of Welsh companies conducted by the Centre in conjunction with Opinion Research Services. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion including prominent members of the Welsh political, business and educational communities to debate what role Wales will play in the global economy in 2030 and how, collectively, we can work towards achieving some appropriate goals.

This conference will engage with the Welsh Government’s policy to significantly increase the woodland cover in Wales from the present 14 per cent to 20 per cent by 2030. The aim is to contribute to the Government’s target of an annual year-on-year 3 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. However, increasing Wales’ woodland by an average of 5,000 hectares a year over 20 years presents a major challenge.
