The Future of the Conservative Party in Wales

With the advent of the National Assembly, how can the Conservatives
carve out a new agenda directly relevant to the specific needs of
Wales, while remaining true to its fundamental British unionist roots
and ideals? This is the question Jonathan Evans MEP seeks to answer
in this, the eighth paper to emerge from seminars held at Gregynog
by the IWA.
Mr Evans argues that his party has to embrace the devolution process,
be willing to contemplate further powers for the National Assembly,
and create a more autonomous Welsh Conservative Party.
Published by the Welsh Academic Press, the Gregynog Papers
are free to IWA members.
