IWA Quality Standards praised
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The IWA’s approach to delivering quality services to its members
and other clients has received a strong endorsement in the latest
review of its quality standards carried out by assessors for ISO 9001
status.
The award, an international quality standard, certifies that the IWA
offers quality services in all its activities, including its publications,
research reports, conferences, seminars and other events, to members,
non-members and other customers.
Organisations holding the award are required to submit to a new examination
at regular intervals and in the latest assessment carried out (January
2007), inspectors state that the institute maintains its systems to
an exemplary standard. The IWA is complimented for having a documented
system – for keeping track of all its dealings with members
and other organisations – that is totally appropriate for its
size and activities.
“We are pleased to have been judged yet again as an efficient
and well-run organisation, operating to the highest international
standard. This can give confidence to individuals or businesses that
join the IWA and to all its customers and other contacts that they
will receive a reliable service from an organisation determined to
maintain the highest standards,” Rhys David, Associate Director
of the IWA, said.
The institute was founded 20 years ago and membership is open to any
individual who shares its objectives of helping Wales to prosper.
There are currently more than 1,100 individual and 150 corporate members,
spread across Wales. Headquartered in Cardiff, the IWA also has branches
in Swansea, West Wales, North Wales and Gwent, which organise their
own events and other activities alongside those held in Cardiff.
